Article Distribution

Once you start writing articles to promote your site, you are going to need to get them in front of webmasters. When it comes to article distribution, depositories are the key.

Only on the internet could one find an opportunity like article distribution. What is article distribution? It is essentially a way to syndicate your content for other sites. You submit a site to a few directories. Webmasters republish the articles on their site and note you as the author and include a link to your site. Frankly, it is a gold mine.

So, where do you submit your articles to get distributed? There use to be only a few depositories, but now there are tens of thousands. In my opinion, there are only a few that really are going to get you the biggest exposure you want. This is a highly subjective opinion, but the most important are:

1. EzineArticles.com
2. GoArticles.com
3. ArticleAlley.com
4. ArticleDashboard.com
5. ArticleCity.com
6. Amazines.com

I used to include isnare.com and a couple others in this, but they are no longer very good. Article Alley has also lost a bit of its luster, but it is still worth your time if you are willing to wait and wait for the site to publish your article.

It is important to note that there are tons of other directories. My personal opinion, however, is most webmasters do not use them to find content. Many of the directories are fairly new and the result of the creatures of Article Dashboard giving away their site code for free. As a result, you now have a few thousand sites that look exactly like Article Dashboard. Why did they do it? Each site using their program has a link to Article Dashboard, which pushes it very high in the search engine rankings.

Finally, there are a wide variety of programs that will distribute your articles for you. Personally, I don’t use them. Why? Any depository site other than the ones above simply doesn’t receive enough webmaster interest to make publishing your articles there worth the time or expense. If 10 people are going to see it, it really isn’t worth much to you.

Article distribution is a subject that is easy to get carried away with. Stick with the directories above and you should do fine.
